The Patriot Post (Summer 2024)

Patriot in Vegas

John Grella, the Sales and Support Director with Patriot Automotive Consulting, attended the NIADA Convention and Expo 2024 in June at the Wynn Las Vegas. It is the premier event for independent auto dealers. Over 800 dealers attended from across the country. The Expo offered more than 50 hours of education and featured the largest Expo Hall for independent dealers. John introduced Patriot's new Heavy Duty wireless GPS device.

The convention provided great networking opportunities and an award ceremony closed out the week celebrating the industry.

Marcus Luttrell, the keynote speaker, who is a decorated Navy SEAL and best-selling author, reminded dealers to keep pushing through the hard times.

By issuing the Declaration of Independence, adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, the 13 American colonies severed their political connections to Great Britain. We celebrate our freedom each year with parades, festivals, cookouts and fireworks. This year marks our 244th year of independence. Take time to stop and be thankful for the freedom that we have in America. Celebrate with your family and friends!

Patriot President Gives Back Locally and Internationally

Once again at the end of the school year, volunteers from He's Alive Church grilled hotdogs and hamburgers for the entire staff at Royal Oaks School of the Arts. Ched Hargett, President of Patriot Automotive Consulting, who attends this church, helped cook and served the teachers. Ched also traveled to Somotillo, Nicaragua in June along with three other mission team members from He's Alive Church in Kannapolis. They served one week and were teamed up with another group from Virginia. They worked with the ministry, “Because We Care” at their compound.

The team built stoves made out of angle iron, concrete, bricks, and rebar with a flue and two holes in the concrete top. They delivered one of these stoves to a family in a village 45 minutes away. This was very special in many ways. The family had a son with cerebral palsy. He could not speak and had mud up to his ankles. His name was Marciano and he had the biggest smile on his face and brought nothing to the team but a smile! Ched was reminded that the son had nothing compared to us in the U.S., yet he had so much joy! Other mission projects included playing games, soccer, creating animal balloons, giving away bags of rice, sandals, clothes, toys and cooking a large pot of chicken stew. Ched had gone on another mission trip in 2017 to Guatemala and had witnessed the poor living conditions in these Central America villages. He said, “The poor living conditions are much worse than any place I have witnessed in the USA except for the homeless.”

Some days the rain kept the team from working so they visited a school and other villages. The Tropical Storm Alberto that was in the Gulf of Mexico and the rain from it kept the roads and streams full of water. One day they had to wrap up their mission work and head back to their headquarters or they could have been stuck in a village.

Ched said, “From now on when I become less than happy or joyful, I will remember Marciano and I know just thinking of him will lift my spirits. This young man was full of the Holy Spirit 100% and carved out a special place in my heart forever.”
